Delight's Hot Springs Resort is a private hot springs establishment that caters year round to those looking for a variety of lodging options.
Located in the town of Tecopa, the resort's main attraction are the numerous springs that emerge into several pools, including one large outdoor pool surrounded by several hot tubs, as well as four private tubs. The private and central hot tubs maintain a water temperature of about 102-104 degrees, while the swimming pool is about 97 degrees.
Surrounding these pools are the areas dedicated to RV and tent camping, a couple motel buildings, and numerous private cabins that can be rented which range in size and amenities - some containing up to 3 bedrooms with full kitchens. Rental cabins each come with barbecue grills.
The secluded location near the south entrance to Death Valley National Park feels like a quaint escape, with no cel service, coyotes yipping into the night air, stars filling the dark skies above, and crisp colorful sunsets and sunrises. The resort lobby still has a payphone booth for outgoing calls. Wifi is available in the lobby 24 hours, along with a small library of books and board games that can be borrowed.
Winter tends to be popular with the RV crowd, with spaces with electric hook ups available both short term and long term. There are tent spaces available in the shade of some trees. All roads through the resort and campgrounds are dirt, however are well-graded and accessible by all vehicle types. As a guest, it is worth wandering the resort a little bit, as some hidden features such as benches and gazebos with wide views of the surrounding Ecological Reserve and mountains can be found, along with historic buildings on site.
The Tecopa Brewing Company Restaurant is onsite, with beer brewed onsite as well as a full menu of food.
All guests are able to use the hot springs facilities during their stay, though the resort also offers day passes for non-guests. Pools and private tubs are open 24 hours a day.
Cabins, RV and tent sites are all within walking distance from the office and pools. Dogs are welcome. In order to preserve the quiet of the location, the resort asks that guests don't bring young children.
While cabin units and motel rooms have bathrooms, showers are limited to the bathroom and outdoor showers at the pools. As all ground water at the resort is mineral water, guests should bring their own drinking water with them.
