Lake Havasu State Park is a 900 acre park area along Lake Havasu's eastern shoreline that is a popular site for camping, river access, hiking, and going to the white sand beaches.
Stretched along a tall, narrow band of land, the state park lies in Lake Havasu City, the park encompasses 2.5 miles of shoreline, and offers easy access to river activities such as fishing, birdwatching, easy walking within small native plant Arroyo-Camino Interpretive Garden, and boat access via two ramps for motorized boats and a separate launch area for non-motorized watercraft.
During the spring months, the park often boasts colorful wildflowers, which can usually be seen along the 3.1 mile Sunset Mojave Trail that traces much of the shoreline within the park.
The park's campgrounds include both car and tent camping sites, along with spaces for RVs and several rental cabins available.
There are other areas of interest in the park such as large day use areas, white sand beaches offering calm shores and protected swimming areas that are ideal for families with young children, and plenty of shaded picnic benches including areas that are available for rent.
Birds like Great Horned Owl and Anna's Hummingbird are known to be seen within the park. And those looking to explore might find aquatic life in the cattail reeds or view birds flying amidst the wide mountainous views from the higher areas.
Lake Havasu State Park is open year round - the park visitor center hours vary depending on the season and day of the week but generally are around 6am to 6pm.
Fees to visit the park are $15 per vehicle Mondays-Thursdays and $20 per vehicle Fridays-Sunday and on holidays. More detailed fee breakdowns can be seen at the State Park website.
