AZT Passage 42: Kaibab Plateau North is a 16.4-mile point-to-point section of the roughly 800-mile Arizona National Scenic Trail. This passage runs from the Orderville Trailhead to Winter Road Trailheadand is located east of Jacob Lake, Arizona. This section is rated as easy to moderate and is accessible for hikers, trail runners, long-distance backpackers, equestrians and mountain bikers.

Passage 42 continues north across the Kaibab National Forest, following a downhill grade. Descending from the Kaibab Plateau to the Great Basin Conifer Woodland, the landscape changes from ponderosa pine forest to a high desert landscape covered in red dirt, big sagebrush, juniper trees, and creeping prickly pear. This section marks the final major ecosystem change along the entire Arizona National Scenic Trail (AZT).

DIRECTIONS
Throughout this passage the AZT follows the same route as Trail #101. Follow Arizona National Scenic Trail signs/trail markers which will be present to help guide the way.
