More Snow on the Horizon for Oregon

The next round of winter storms will pummel the Oregon mountains beginning today, creating hazardous driving conditions on Cascade Range passes while dropping 15 to 30 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service forecast heavy snow as low as 2,500 feet tonight through Thursday, adding to the already robust snowpack in the Western Oregon mountains.

Driving conditions will be challenging throughout the mountains, but will be particularly difficult in the Columbia River Gorge, NWS forecasters said. Snow will transition into freezing rain on Thursday, making roads extremely slick in places, before turning into rain on Friday everywhere below 6,000 feet.
