There’s something magical about being surrounded by your lady tribe. We know, you’ve heard this all before. Pussies unite. Woman power, hear us roar. But just hear us out.

As humans, we all subject ourselves to uncomfortable situations that blow our minds and have us questioning our own sanity. Yet we push past ourselves and send it anyway. Unfortunately, the narrative that often accompanies women’s stories in the outdoors is about how we felt as if we were tiny, unheard, and incapable of overcoming some great feat. Sure, we have insecurities and we can question our abilities. But at the end of the day, we’re the ones out there actually doing it. It’s time to stop humble bragging and self-deprecating and start congratulating ourselves for being the badasses we are.

It’s circumstances like these—the awkward “Am I good enough” moments—that inspired us to start the Sisterhood of Shred. We’ve known all along that our work at Coalition Snow was much more important than building the world’s best skis and boards. We wanted to create that community of women who build each other up and help each other reach that next summit –both literally and metaphorically – with pride and celebration.

When we launched the Sisterhood of Shred, we weren’t exactly sure what it was going to look like, but we knew it would be a place for women to come together to share those fears, accomplish those goals, and laugh at each other in that certain kind of way that makes you laugh at yourself too.

Today the Sisterhood has groups in 14 regions across the globe, each of which are accessible via Coalition Snow Facebook Groups. The women are a wild mix of mothers and daughters, athletes and recreationalists, pros and first timers, who seek to learn and to share their knowledge. Suddenly women who were once strangers are now meeting regularly for first chair and last call. Wanderlust-filled travelers can reach out for a local tip on where to find the best beer, the shortest lift lines, the best runs, and tips for learning new sports.

As the Sisterhood of Shred continues to grow, we’ve realized that finding your lady tribe isn’t the magical rare moment we once thought it was. Those special people looking to share adventure are everywhere, and you can find your Sisterhood Of Shred here. If you don’t see a group in your region, drop us a line because we’re willing to bet there are more ladies looking to connect!
