On Saturday, July 29th, we braved the heat and hosted our inaugural Seattle Block Party with Optimism Brewing in Capitol Hill. With over 1,500 people in attendance and thirteen outdoor industry vendors onsite, the inspiration was high and new adventures have been placed on all of our calendars.
Our vendors brought the party! Explore Hood Canal had a plethora of adventures to share with the community, MSR had a wonderful ring toss challenge, and Blackrapids had an awesome scavenger hunt going throughout the day. We thrive on community building and feel inspired when connection is made that drives adventure, and Seattle was a day that was filled with community building and adventure dreaming. Thank you so much to our sponsors: Explore Hood Canal, BLACKRAPIDS, Arc'teryx, MSR, Deviation, Washington Parks, Roam Oatmeal, Alpine Hut, 1% for the Planet, Mountain Mels, The Nature Conservancy, and Forterra.
Huge shout out to our bands who kept the dance party going all day long. We kicked off the party with Sans Peter, followed by Ezra Bell and closed out the night with our headliner Crow and the Canyon.
THE BEST PART OF THE DAY: AS A COMMUNITY WE RAISED OVER $1,200 FOR SHEJUMPS!
Proceeds of sales of Outdoor Project's customized Stanely pint glasses went back to SheJumps as well as 10% of sales from Optimism was donated back to SheJumps. Thank you everyone for the support towards SheJumps. With your help, they can continue getting girls and women outdoors!
Seattle, thank you for the support and coming out for a beautiful day in the city!
We are excited to continue the event series. Look for us next in Bend, Oregon followed by Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
