The Nature Trail is a 1.9 mile out-and-back path that parallels the shoreline of the Catawba River through Landsford Canal State Park.

The path begins from the northern parking area, descending past several benches and past a historical cabin. Following signage for the Nature Trail route, the hike follows a dirt single track passing along the wooded wetlands beside the Catawba. Mostly flat, it's generally an easy walk as it veers past wetland flora.

At just under a mile, the trail ends at a wooden viewing platform set over the river. This platform is especially popular during the season when the rocky shoal spider lilies bloom, which are visible along the rock outcroppings in the river.

Hikers can either retrace their route to the trailhead, or can take the inland fork to the Canal Trail, which also returns to the trailhead while passing several historical manmade features inside the park, including the remains of the Landsford Canal.

Amenities such as bathrooms and running water are available for visitors such at the parking area.

The Nature Trail lies inside Landsford Canal State Park, and is subject to all park entry fees and open hours. Complete details can be seen on the park's website.
