The Magnolia Trail is an easy 1 mile loop path that begins on the peninsula in Fort McAllister State Park, adjacent to the campground area.

Following a hard packed generally flat dirt track, the trail circles the upper half of the peninsula, passing through forest along the edge of a tidal waterway beside the Ogeechee River.

While the state park has lots of historical sites of interest, the Magnolia Trail is simply a flat, easy walk through the forested landscape. Several interpretive signs offering information about wildlife can be viewed along the path. Visitors can walk to the water's edge at high tide, or simply take in the fresh air blowing through the trees.

Bathrooms and water are available in the campground and day use areas. Bicycles are permitted on the Magnolia Trail, with bike rentals available from the state park office and visitor center.

The Magnolia Trail is subject to Fort McAllister State Park hours and entry fees. Full details can be seen on the park's website
