This Tahoe City lakeside campground lies within the Tahoe State Recreation Area, set along the lake's north shore. The location is slightly unusual for a campground, as it is nestled between a Tahoe City shopping center and a condo lot, but the Jeffrey pines, lakeside access, and incredible lake views negate much of the busy surroundings. One thing's for sure, you won't have to travel far to resupply food and drink.
With only 25 sites, the Tahoe SRA Campground can fill up fast. Open from the end of May through August, the family-friendly campground offers water recreation, close access to town amenities, and is connected to the Tahoe City bike path. Families with young children will want to check out nearby Commons Beach, just a short bike ride away. The beach adjacent to the campground is well suited for summer swimming and launching small watercraft, and a pier offers fishing opportunities.
If you are looking for a quieter camping experience, consider heading down Lake Tahoe's west shore to Sugar Pine Point State Park, Meeks Bay Campground or D.L. Bliss State Park.
Reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays. Dogs are permitted in the campground.
