Little Harbor Campground is one of several campgrounds, and probably the largest, within Catalina Island's rugged interior.
The campground is set beside a cove and contains about 25 camp sites, many of which are able to accommodate larger groups. Alternatively, three waterfront camp sites at neighboring Shark Harbor can also be reserved through Little Harbor Campground.
Each site has a picnic table - some covered, some not - wildlife food locker, and fire pit. The sites are set in a flat area of, with grassy lawn, though much of the campground is exposed to sun, wind and rain.
A central informational booth has a map of camp sites.
Little Harbor is located 7 miles from the town of Two Harbors via dirt road, and is located about 6 miles from the Catalina Airport via a dirt road. Little Harbor lies about 16 miles from the town of Avalon.
With the Trans-Catalina Trail passing right through the campground, the campground makes a natural overnight stop for those hiking the trail.
The campground is managed by the Catalina Island Company, who can take reservations through their website. The Catalina Island Company also offers gear rental, gear and food hauling, and firewood. See their site for complete details and options.
Camping rates are about $26 per person per night, and mutitple-night minimum stays may apply. See the Catalina Island Company's site for complete details.
