The drive-in North Campground at Copper Falls State Park is located near Mellen, Wisconsin. This campground is one of two drive-in campgrounds in the park. The North Campground at Copper Falls State Park has a total of 32 sites. There are 28 sites that have electric hookups with 50-amp service. Site #7 is a wheelchair accessible site that has electricity. The campground is heavily wooded and the sites have decent separation to offer privacy.
Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. Firewood is available for sale at the park office as well as from private sellers near the park. All the sites are back-in sites. Dogs that are on a leash are allowed in the campground.
The campground has two vault toilets and several fresh water spigots. There is a bathroom and shower building located at the South Campground and there is a dump station across from the shower building. The campground is open year-round; during the winter months there are six sites available for camping, all of these sites have electricity. The road to these sites is plowed. In the winter, fresh drinking water can be obtained at the stone maintenance garage; use the hose hanging on the outside of the building.
In addition to the camping fees, there is a fee to enter the park; a day use or annual permit can be purchased at the park office. All the sites can be reserved online or by phone. Copper Falls State Park is a popular park, so camping spots get reserved quickly.
Trails that can be easily accessed from the campground include the Takesson Trails and the Vahtera Trails. The popular Doughboys Nature Trail is a short walk from the campground as well.
