Playa Cat

I grew up in PA, not far from the AT. I was a fanatical minimalist backpacker (starting years before Colin Fletcher's "The Complete Walker" emerged) in my youth & have hiked the entire trail 3 times & portions of it scores of times. I later lived in the high Colorado Rockies at just short of 10,000 feet & have backpacked the Rockies & western deserts for years. At 72, I don't hike so much ;) but my heart is with the woodsmen & women.
