I'm a native Californian. I have lived up and down the state from Redding to Long Beach. My family began camping when I was in elementary school. I've been camping and hiking ever since. My husband and I currently have a VW Eurovan camper (our third VW camper since 1981) so we haven't slept on the ground in decades. We have camped in every state in the West except New Mexico, where we're headed this fall (2016). We will continue our camping adventures as long as we can squeeze into the fold out bed in the van. Our favorite places in California are the Sonoma and Mendecino coasts and Highway 395 from Bridgeport to Bishop.
