    Dennis Ernst

    Green Valley, Arizona

“Guess what I saw today?” Those were common words for a Professional Land Surveyor with a longtime photography hobby arriving home at night.

There is an incredible amount of beauty in the world around us, but the trick is, to see it. Being profoundly deaf for most of my life, I may have an advantage, as I see far more than most people, but hear far less.

Having lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest, gave me easy access to nature in a wide range of environments. Photography became a way of communicating the beauty I saw in the world around me, in a way others could enjoy and understand.

After retiring I moved to southern Arizona and continued to pursue photography and my love for the outdoors. Sharing the amazing beauty, I find and educating others in the value of visiting and protecting our public lands, and scenic treasures has been a lifelong endeavor.

For the Outdoor Project, I will be, focusing on a wide variety of adventure to discover Parks, Wilderness Areas, cultural sites and well as the flora and fauna of the Southwest.
