I started Hike It Baby a few weeks after having my son, Mason River, because I wanted to get out but didn’t want to hike alone. I found that most of my non-mama or friends who had older kids wanted to do bigger hikes that I wasn’t ready for. So I asked a few new mamas to join me and that’s how it all began. The thing about being a new mama is that you have a lot of energy in so many ways, but your body just isn’t quite up to speed with your racing mind. You want to leap over tall buildings and you feel like you could take on the world…but first you need a nap.
