I started backpacking, rock climbing and caving while in college in Tulsa, OK. My family is from Montana so I have been fly fishing for as long as I can remember. After college I headed to National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) for the Fall Semester in the Rockies course (FSR7 1992). I have been blessed to have been able to travel around the world and see some breathtaking sights. My wife and I live in Colorado Springs, we have 4 great kids and one awesome grandchild. My backpacking companion 90% of the time is my pup, Dublin, a Rhodesian Ridgeback. At the beginning of this year I started spending at least 1 (always try for 2) weekends a month backpacking around Pikes Peak, summiting some of the lesser named peaks.
