    California City, California

Manchester City is reportedly pursuing Portuguese national team goalkeeper Diogo Costa as a potential addition to their squad.

According to TeamTalk on October 27th, both Manchester City and FC Barcelona have shown interest in FC Porto’s Diogo Costa, who has previously been linked with Manchester United.

Costa has built a reputation as an excellent sweeper-keeper, known for his wide defensive coverage and exceptional distribution skills. Standing at 192 cm, he has an imposing presence in goal, complemented by his sharp reflexes, which make him a formidable shot-stopper.

Costa has been with Porto since joining their youth system in 2010 and made his professional debut in the 2019/20 season. His breakthrough came in the 2021/22 season when he became Porto's first-choice goalkeeper, playing 43 matches and conceding only 38 goals. His performance helped Porto win the Primeira Liga, and he was subsequently named Goalkeeper of the Year.

His success carried over to the following season (2022/23), where Costa once again won the Primeira Liga Goalkeeper of the Year award after playing 45 matches and conceding 38 goals. So far this season, he has continued as Porto's number one, with 12 appearances and 13 goals conceded.

Internationally, Costa has established himself as Portugal’s main goalkeeper since his debut in October 2021. He played a key role in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the Euro 2024 qualifiers, amassing 31 caps for his national team.

Both Manchester City and Barcelona are reportedly considering a bid for Costa, with Sport indicating that the clubs could offer around €45 million (approximately 67.2 billion KRW). Costa’s talent previously attracted Manchester United, and now City and Barcelona are keen to secure his services.

The interest from both clubs comes with specific motivations. Manchester City may need a replacement for Ederson Moraes, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, while Barcelona is seeking a long-term replacement for the injured Marc-André ter Stegen.

As the race for Costa intensifies, the competition among top European clubs continues to heat up—highlighting the importance of thorough vetting, similar to the 먹튀검증 사설토토사이트 process, ensuring clubs make sound investments in players they can rely on.
