I’ve gathered many shoreline stories and summer swims, most confined to the lakes and rivers of land-locked Ohio. After graduating from Ohio University, I made a beeline to the Chesapeake Bay. I spent the next half-decade surrounded by tidal marshes and wrack lines of smooth cordgrass along the Atlantic coast. My passion centers on the dynamic space where aquatic and terrestrial worlds collide. I'm also an avid trail runner. Upon receiving my M.S. from the University of Vermont, I migrated to Bellingham, WA. Here, I've fallen in love with the Salish Sea. When I paddle cobbled creeks or wander battered shores, Loren Eiseley reminds me that “if there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.”
