Born in Los Angeles CA. and starting from a young age I've always had a strong desire to explore the great outdoors and wilderness starting with the local mountains of San Gorgonio and San Jacinto and soon on to the Kings Canyon and High Sierra's following many of John Muir's treks. From the Eastern side of the Sierras, the Black Divide separating the upper Kings Canyon region which is also the access point to Mt. Whitney and the Western side of the Sierras, the LeConte Divide separating the upper Kings Canyon exploring the Giant Sequoias and Yosemite Valley. These early treks into the great outdoors of Norther California etched such spectacular images in my mind and have never left me. As I moved to the Great Northwest in the early 1980's I began exploring the Olympic National Park and the many beautiful rivers and coast line and soon into the Cascade Mountain range. With Mt. Rainer as the backdrop I soon discovered many incredible hidden gems of lakes, forest and rivers which I still enjoy to this day.
