Heron Pond is a beautiful pond near Jackson Lake along the much longer Hermitage Point Trail. This easy and family-friendly hike is perfect for all ages and skill levels, but make sure to bring your bear spray, just like on any trail in Grand Teton National Park.

You have the chance of seeing all types of wildlife along this easy jaunt including river otter, bears, deer, moose or various birds and raptors. The pond is filled with large lily pads and has great views of the Tetons in the distance. There are bathrooms and many other facilities near the trailhead, and you will most likely see many other hikers on the trail. The trail is flat and well maintained and does not have any major hazards. You can choose from several variations of the route, including one that heads to Swan Lake.
