With over a mile of Lake Sammamish shoreline and a myriad day use facilities, Lake Sammamish State Park is one of King County's most popular playgrounds. Most notably, the 512-acre park features, three large and reservable picnic shelter areas, two beaches (Sunset and Tibbetts) with enclosed swimming areas and shower/bathroom facilities, kayak and SUP rentals, a summer concession stand, two playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, boat ramp access to Lake Sammamish, an officially recognized great blue heron rookery (listed as a Washington State Birding Trail by the Audubon Society), 1.5 miles of hiking and biking trails, and access to the East Lake Sammamish Trail.
To handle the masses that descend during the summer months, the park boasts an incredible 475 picnic tables and 80 barbecue grills.
The park also features nearly a dozen soccer/sports fields and the Hans Jensen Youth Group Camp that can accommodate as many as 200 guests. The Group Camp further features 36 picnic tables, 12 stoves, four vault toilets, and one picnic shelter.

East Lake Sammamish Trail
The East Lake Sammamish Trail is a multi-use hiking/biking trail that stretches along 11 miles of the eastern shore of Lake Sammamish. Both paved and gravel in different sections, the trail occupies a right-of-way originally used by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad until it was acquired by the county in 1998.
