Hyde Park Canyon Loop is a short, yet steep hike. It's just over 3 miles long and climbs 1,230 feet. The trail is well for hiking, horseback riding, and offroad vehicles. Some portions of the trail are quite steep and rocky. Good, grippy shoes are suggested for this hike. Whether going up or down, the steep trail is covered in rocks which makes it very easy to slip and eary to roll an ankle.

The trail starts in the base of the canyon and meanders through the valley. It eventually reaches a steep gradient that does not switchback. This portion shoots nearly straight up the hill until you reach the peak of the trail. Once at the top, you are exposed to the sun and wind. As you follow the crest of the ridge back down, you are greeted with panoramic views of the entire Cache Valley area. You'll reach a small juniper tree grove where it then becomes steep once agan. Take caution on the way down as one slip here could result in injury. There are a few natural caves in the lower portions of the canyon. Short off trail hiking is required to reach them.

The area on and around this trail is popular for ATV's and offroaders. It seems the trail is  actually more designed for these uses, but hiking it just as suitable. There are many trails that branch of off this one and one could make their own route very easily. The trail could be listed as moderate to hard in difficulty, due to the steep portions of trail.
