Huntington Beach State Park Campground is centrally located to all the park's attractions: the beach, the causeway, Atalaya, and nature trails. You can easily walk or bike to any of them from your campsite, especially the beach because short trails lead through the trees directly to the sand. The campground itself is spacious, grassy, and comfortable. It's a popular stopover for those traveling from near and far to enjoy South Carolina's northern coast.
The campground offers accomodation of various types. There standard sites (water and electric), full hookup sites (water, electric, sewer), walk-in tent sites, and primitive group sites to choose from. Each has a picnic table and fire ring with cooking grate. RV sites up to 40 feet are available. The whole campground has access to restrooms, showers, potable water, Wi-Fi, trash service, and a dump station. Reservations are recommended, especially if you are looking for a particular type of site, because they can easily fill up during the high season. Dogs are allowed on a leash in the campground, on park trails, and on the south end of the beach.
