Slide Creek Campground is as primitive as it gets. It's just off the road leading to Strawberry Campground, the main entry point into the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. A less popular entry trail, the Slide Creek Connector Trail, starts from here and leads into the wilderness as well.

The campground has three primitive car and tent sites. Each has a picnic table, a fire pit, and little else. There is no camping or overnight fee at the campground, and it's unlikely you'll be sharing it with anyone else. This makes it a good alternative to camping at Strawberry Campground if you are comfortable going without a vault toilet to use. The campground is open as long as the road into it is accessible. Snowpack is common in the area from late fall through late spring.
