Lost Creek Campground is a humble, 14-site campground at the base of Mount Hood's western slope.  Only a few miles from McNeil Campground, Lost Creek Campground is nestled beneath a tall coniferous forest, so the campsites receive less sun than those at McNeil.  The campground compensates for the lack of sun by providing improved facilities and outdoor amenities, including two rentable yurts, ADA accessible sites, barbeque grills, a fishing platform, well-maintained vault toilets, and a short, 0.5 mile interpretive trail.

While camping at Lost Creek, don't miss the hikes to Ramona Falls, Zig Zag Mountain, or Burnt Lake.

Note: The campground is closed October 1 through May 25.

We reserved site #005 for Memorial Day Weekend. When we arrived we we're disappointed that it was right next to the yurts and packed in with a bunch of other campers. We went to talk with Stan who is the camp host. He and his wife are the sweetest. We were able to switch to site B5 near the water. Several open spots when we arrived on Sunday.

Watch out for crows! They swooped in and stole vegetables and packets of top ramen. They were able to undo the latches on our plastic bins and break through tupperware to get at our eggs. They took all of my clothes out of my bag and scattered them about the site :) Stan said they stole pork chops and baked potatoes right off the plate when he wasn't looking. They aren't aggressive, just sneaky.

A new favorite campground! Peaceful and great camp host.
