Aneroid Lake Ski Tour

Aneroid Lake basin is a great place for a long day trip or an overnight adventure. Access to the lake is guarded by large avalanche paths that drain into the East Fork of the Wallowa River. If conditions are right and you're able to reach the lake, you'll find big terrain with endless skiing. If you're looking to overnight, there's a public three-sided shelter that sleeps six near Aneroid Lake. 

You'll also find a handful of private cabins that were grandfathered into the wilderness long ago. Please keep a respectful distance from these while you are in the area. These are not for public use and cannot be used commercially. 

There is plenty of skiing to be had around Aneroid Lake. The best skiing can be had off of Petes Point and it's neighboring bowls and chutes. Aneroid Mountain is another great climb and ski with gentle bowls off the south side.
