The further you venture from the Boulder City and Las Vegas vicinity at Lake Mead National Recreation Area's western edge, the less developed and populated the area becomes. Stewarts Point Dispersed Camping Area is a free campground that, with the exception of a single vault toilet located at the camping area's entrance, is completely primitive.

The spacious area sits along the Overton Arm of Lake Mead, seemingly closer to the Valley Of Fire State Park than to most of the area's of interest at Lake Mead. To reach the campground, visitors leave the paved road and descend on a rough gravel road to the wide area. Camp sites are undefined, and the area can be a bit of a free for all, however since the area is large and spread out, it is easy to find an area away from your nearest neighbors.

There are no marked roads. Instead the network of tracks weaves and veers over the landscape. Some roads can be steep or dead end, so it is best to approach the area slowly. Roads are rough and can be muddy following wet weather, however under most conditions, 2WD vehicles and RVs can access the camping area if driving carefully.

There are no fees, however there are also no amenities. While there are no boat ramps into the lake here, much of the area sits atop a butte overlooking the lake and offering wide views of the surrounding mountainous landscape.

Reaching Stewarts Point Dispersed Camping Area requires park entry fees.
