Tettegouche Cart-in Campground

Tettegouche State Park is one of a number of Minnesota state parks that have cart-in campsites for tenting. Carts with bicycle wheels, much like those that are found at marinas, are available to haul your gear. At Tettegouche State Park there are 13 cart-in sites located near Lake Superior. Parking for the cart-in sites is located southwest of the visitor center, just past where the park road goes under highway 61. The greatest distance from the parking area to a site is 6/10 of a mile.

These sites offer great privacy in a heavily wooded area. About half of the sites a close to the rocky shores of Lake Superior. There is beach access between sites K and J. Other sites have access to amazing views of the rocky cliffs above Lake Superior. From site E it is a very short walk to get a sweeping view of Lake Superior and Shovel Point.

Each site has a fire ring, a picnic table, and a bear-proof storage locker. There are three vault toilets located at this campground. These sites are available year round, but one will not be able to cart to the sites when there is snow on the ground. All the sites can be reserved.
