Ula la'au (which means A Garden of Trees in Hawaiian), otherwise called Waimea Nature Park, is a 10 acre green area in the center of the town of Waimea.
The park area is spread over 10 acres, with the grounds situated along the Waikoloa Stream. A walking trail paralleling the stream passes through the park as well.
The park is run by the volunteer group, Waimea Outdoor Circle, who have maintained the park and added improvements to better accommodate classes and learning groups, as well as adding educational signage throughout the park. The group has also created an interactive online map with which visitors can view thorough descriptions of many of the plants inside the park.
Aside from walking trails, the park also has covered picnic areas, many benches set in quiet locations beneath shade trees or along the stream, a native plant garden with signage, and various memorials dedicated to past gardeners.
The park is open from sunrise until 5:30 pm daily. There are outhouses in the park. Parking is accessed from the end of Ahuli Circle on the south side of the park.
