Banyans Beach is a small unassuming neighborhood beach along Ali'i Drive in Kona.
The beach is a prime surf spot, and tends to be popular amongst locals. The waters can get competitive during good surf conditions.
The beach itself is a small stretch of sandy shore nestled between a couple residential buildings. There is a lawn, picnic table, shade tree, and a patio area with tables and chairs and small garden lovingly maintained by some locals.
Not a big destination beach, Banyans is a pretty nice spot for those who are living or staying in the neighborhood. There is a lot of rock right off the shore, after which is a drop where the break is, so it's not great for swimming or snorkeling, but is a little bit better for those with young kids who are just looking for a shallow spot to dip your feet.
There are no amenities here, and unfortunately, no banyans (there are a few a couple lots over, however they are not accessible to the public).
Overall, it's a good beach for a nearby spot to relax and watch some waves and surfers.
