Mesa and Yucca Trail Loop is an easy hike located in Palmer Park near Colorado Springs. This hike explores a small section of Palmer Park. This loop is 2.7 miles long and gains 262 feet of elevation.

This hike starts from the Yucca Flats Trailhead. There are no amenities at the trailhead. Begin hiking northwest on Mesa Trail. This is a wide and flat trail. Over the first 0.2 miles, you will encounter multiple junctions. Go right at all of them to stay on Mesa Trail. You will have periodic views of Front Range peaks to the west. Another 0.1 miles will bring you to a junction. Go straight onto Yucca Trail. This trail is also wide and flat. You will pass to junctions over the next 0.1 miles. Go left at both of these. Another 0.4 miles will bring you to a junction. Take a left here to remain on Yucca Trail.

Hike uphill for 0.1 miles and then downhill for another 0.1 miles. This will bring you to a junction. Take a right onto Mesa Trail. You willnow hike uphill for 0.2 miles. You will also pass by 3 junctions. Go left at the first and left at the next 2. Then head downhill for 0.1 miles to reach another junction. Go left here onto Edna Mae Bennet Nature Trail. Continue downhill on this trail for 0.6 miles. Here you will encounter a junction. Turn left onto Templeton Trail. You will pass multiple junctions as you stay on Templeton Trail for 0.6 miles. This will return you to the trailhead.

Palmer Park is open 5am-9pm year round. There are no associated fees to hike here. Dogs are allowed on this trail as long as they are on a leash. This trail may also be used by bikers and horseback riders.
