This hikes is located in Worthington State Forest and is a very popular hiking destination, especially on weekends.  The parking for the hike is the second lot located on the service road (west bound) to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area ranger station.

From the parking lot, follow the Appalachian Trail (White markers) for 4 miles.  At the beginning, the trail follows Dunnfield Creek and after less than a half mile, the AT branches off to the left and begins to ascend.  It is a wide trail however, very rocky in areas.  At the 4 mile mark, the AT reaches Sunfish Pond.  The AT continues on the north side of the pond.  This loop follows the Sunfish Pond Fire Road on the south side of the pond.  It is not well marked but is an obvious wide forest road.

One mile from the turn onto the forest road from the Appalachian Trail, the route becomes a single track and overngrown in areas.  Another 3/4 of a mile and the trail ends on the Mount Tammany Fire Road.  Turn right onto the Mount Tammany Fire Road and contiunue for another 4 miles and the top of Mount Tammany.  Descend Mount Tammany on the Red Dot trail for a little more than one mile to the trailhead parking.
