Shevlin Loop Trail

The Shevlin Loop Trail takes hikers on a 4.5 mile journey around beautiful Shevlin Park. The trail is mostly easy hiking with a few short climbs. It can also be combined with other trails in the park (like the Tumalo Creek Trail) if you wish to shorten the loop.

The Shevlin Loop Trail begins and ends at the main parking area near the gate. If hiking in a clockwise direction you’ll follow the signs and cross over Tumalo Creek.

The trail then predominately follows the canyon rim, offering scenic views down to the creek. You’ll hike through old growth ponderosa pine as you continue along the Shevlin Park Loop. The trail joins the Western Larch Trail for a stint, but all junctions are well signed.

You’ll hike above Fremont Meadow, then eventually descend back down to Tumalo Creek, crossing it for the second time. This area is a beautiful spot for a break.

The trail then stays above, but close to, the Fremont Road Trail as you now head back toward the trailhead. There are several spots (again, all well signed) where you can drop down to the road or Tumalo Creek Trail if you desire a slight change of pace.

The Shevlin Loop Trail then finishes its loop and ends at the trailhead where you first began.
