The Crow Wing State Park Campground is a drive-in campground that is located near Brainerd, Minnesota. This campground has a total of 59 sites. There are 12 sites that have electric hookups with 30-amp service. There are two wheelchair accessible sites in the campground. There is also a group campsite near the Mississippi River and one camper cabin in the park.
The campground is heavily wooded so most of the sites have good shade. Most sites are fairly close together so don’t expect too much privacy. There are a few non-electric sites that are quite private.
Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. Firewood is available for sale at the park office. All the sites in the campground are back-in sites and many can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet in length. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the campground, except in the restroom.
The campground has a bathroom with showers as well as three vault toilets. There is a dump station near the campground. The campground is open from early April until early November. The camper cabin is available for rent from late April until early October.
For campers interested in hiking, there are a number of trails that are accessible from the campground. It is also a short walk from the campground to the Mississippi River. The paved Paul Bunyan State Trail is nearby as well.
In addition to the camping fees, there is a fee to enter the park; a day use or annual permit can be purchased at the park office. All the sites can be reserved online or by phone. The Brainerd area is a popular summer destination, so sites get reserved quickly; especially for weekends.
