Gila Hot Springs Campground is a lovely spot located alongside the West Fork of the Gila River and near the fascinating Gila Cliff Dwellings. The property is owned by Allen and Carla Campbell, who welcome visitors to come enjoy the hot springs and campground year round.
The campground features 12 different campsites. Most sites are fairly private and also feature shade trees. Campsites are suitable for tent campers, vans and small self-contained campers and trailers (must be less than 20 feet long).
Picnic tables and fire rings are to be found at each site. Composting toilets are also on site. Dinking water is available, but there is no electricity or trash services.
Camping is $10 as of 2022. This fee also includes unlimited soaking in the 3 lovely hot spring pools located here. Please make sure to have cash, as credit/debit cards are not accepted here.
There are three separate hot spring pools here. Water temperature is normally between 101 to 104 degrees F. The pools have natural rock perimeters and gravel bottoms. They are quite lovely to soak in. Campers have the added bonus of being able to soak outside of the day use hours of 9am to 6pm. Note that swimsuits are required, although after dark clothing is allowed to be optional.
