Mt. Rose Summit / Tahoe Meadows to Spooner Summit North is a 24.1 mile segment of the 165+ mile Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT). This segment is located southeast of Reno, Nevada and runs from the Tahoe Meadows Trailhead to Spooner Summit North. It features alpine lakes, mountain views, and a visit to Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. The TRT is a multi-use, non-motorized trail open to hikers, trail runners, backpackers, bikers, and equestrians for most of its length (mountain bikes and equestrians are prohibited from certain sections of the trail).
This section of the TRT rises high above Lake Tahoe and the Marlette Lakes, and is considered to be one of the most scenic segments. It features magnificent views of Lake Tahoe, stunning displays of seasonal wildflowers, and views of the jagged peaks of the Sierra Nevada.
Midway through this segment the TRT enters Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park where visitors can enjoy swimming, picnicking, hiking, and more. Information about the state park can be found by visiting https://stateparks.com/lake_tahoe_state_park_in_nevada.html.
