Molokai's Papohaku Beach Park is a large park on the island's red western shores that offers a large walking beach, spacious grass fields open to camping, several tables and outdoor sinks, showers, and restrooms.

Visitors to Papohaku Beach will likely find themselves sharing the beach area with only a few other people. The beach park feels small, and has minimal facilities, but the beach here is large and sandy, and is one of the longest stretches of uninterrupted sandy shoreline on the island, which is why the beach is also called Three Mile Beach.

From the parking area, a wide path leads past the tables, a couple outdoor sinks and grills, an outdoor shower bolted onto an old tree, and ADA-accessible flush bathrooms and comfort station.

Summer months bring a generally gentle tide, however the surf tends to be much more rough during the winter months. There are no lifeguards on the beach. On clear days, it's possible to see across the Kaiwi Channel to the shores of Waikiki on Oahu. (Visitors to Waikiki might find themselves standing on the sand of Papohaku Beach which was transported to Oahu years ago to build their island's shores.)

Drinking water is available at the beach park. There are no grocery stores or gas stations nearby.

Papohaku Beach Park is open from 7am to 8pm daily.
