Puko'o Harbor is a private boating harbor on Molokai's east area, though two public entrances allow visitors to drive to the beach areas on either side of the actual harbor.
Set near milemarker 16 on the Kamehameha Highway, both dirt roads to the shore are unsigned, so visitors should be prepared with navigation when heading to these beaches.
The western shore is more of a cove, with shaded parking on darker sand. It's possible to walk along the water's edge in either direction here. Following the shore to the left will lead through some brush to the point at the far edge of the harbor. However beyond this trail is private property, so visitors should be aware of that.
The eastern entrance follows a rutted dirt path past some homes before emerging on the soft sand. This section, which lies east of the harbor, has more of a beach feel, with exposed shores and a long narrow strip of white sand beach. It's possible to go for a walk in either direction, though while the sand is publicly accessible, it soon is cut off by private homes to the east and ends at the mouth of the harbor to the west. The water is a mix of rocky and sandy bottom, generally shallow. Okay for wading in here, though visitors should be careful of the rocks.
There is a trash can and outhouse at the western entrance, there is only a trash can at the eastern entrance. No other amenities are present at Puko'o Beach.
With it's private feel and beautiful scenery, Puko'o Beach is a great destination when visiting Molokai.
