Sand Pit Campground

Sand Pit Campground at Sand Hollow State Park is the primary camping area for those enjoying the OHV activities of the Sand Mountain area. The campground is appropriately named as there is sand everywhere! What may be perfect for OHV and ATV users may not be ideal for others - if you’re looking for a campground that may be a bit quieter I’d recommend the Westside Campground. With that said, Sand Pit does offer less expensive campsites and the lake is still readily accessible just across the park road from the campground.

Sand Pit Campground offers 30 campsites. The majority of these campsites are standard sites without hookups. There are however 6 campsites here with partial hookups (water and electric). There are also 5 group campsites.

At each campsite you’ll find a picnic table(s) and fire ring. Within the campground is also a restroom facility complete with showers. There is also a RV dump station near the Westside Campground area.
