This short hike leads to a viewpoint and vortex. Begin by parking at the Boynton Canyon Trailhead. Note that this trailhead fills up quickly, so plan on arriving early in the morning or parking further down the street if full.

From the trailhead follow the Boynton Canyon Trail to the northeast. At the first junction you’ll take a left and enter the Red Rock - Secret Mountain Wilderness. Continue for a short distance before taking a right at the next junction on the Boynton Vista Trail.

This stretch of trail gains a bit of elevation as it leads to the vista. At the vista there is an interesting spire-like rock formation, and of course great views down toward the Enchantment Resort and nearby red rock cliffs.

This is also the site of one of Sedona’s vortexes. These sites are said to be concentrated areas of swirling energy that are conducive to healing, meditation and self-exploration. At some vortexes it is said that energy flows upward out of the earth, while at others the energy spirals downward into the earth. These are often popular spots to meditate or practice yoga.
