Jaycee Park Campground

Jaycee Park Campground is located off Utah Scenic Byway 279, just across the highway from the Colorado River. This area is very popular with rock climbers, with a plethora of routes leading up the high red rock cliffs that overhang the highway just south of here. There are many hiking trails nearby including the stunning Portal Overlook Trail that takes off right here from the campground.

The campground itself contains 7 sites. All campsites are “walk-in” sites, although only a very short walk from the parking area. This means that Jaycee Park is only open to tent camping.

The campsites are all located in one central area. Towering red rock walls border one side of the campground, while the highway borders the other side (thankfully there isn’t much traffic at night). While the campsites aren’t super private, they are all nicely shaded. Each site contains a picnic table and fire pit with grate.

Aside from a vault toilet and dumpster, there are no amenities or water available at Jaycee Park Campground. All sites are first come, first serve with no reservations.
