Baker Creek Campground

Baker Creek Campground is an Inyo County operated campground located just west, walking distance from the town of Big Pine. 

Upon entering the campground, an info board has a map of the campground and a pay station. While reservations are available through Reserve America, several sites are non-reservable and held for walk ins.

The official number of sites is 43, but the campground seems to operated more on a slight free-for-all basis, with very few numbered sites, and instead tables just set in picturesque spots beneath trees. There are several areas to this campground, with the tent camping sites located at the area's southwestern edge being the most scenic. Though if visitors take a couple minutes to drive around, they will likely find a desirable spot. Camp sites are located beneath trees, along creeks, or in group clusters. Owing to the large amount of space here, campers can expect a fair amount of privacy from their neighbors.

Vault toilets and trash cans are the only amenities. There is no water located at Baker Creek Campground. Septic cleaning is available for a fee via a mobile service whose contact info can be found posted on the info board.

Campers here can expect to enjoy picturesque mountain views of the Eastern Sierra Nevada immediately to the west and the White Mountains located across the Owens River Valley. Clear nights bring starry skies. And for the small markets of Big Pine are located less than 1.5 miles from the campground.
