Diaz Lake Recreation Area is an 80 acre park around Diaz Lake nestled between the Owens River Valley and the Eastern Sierra Nevada range, located about 3 miles south of the town of Lone Pine.

The park has a large day use area with covered picnic tables, a playground, basketball hoop, swimming areas, interpretive signs and boat access (there is an additional fee and a required boat inspection). Motorized boats are permitted on the lake from May 15th-October 30th each year. Fishing is permitted on the lake - a fishing license is required - from the shore or from an ADA accessible dock at the water's edge.

Views of Whitney Peak dominate the western skyline. There is water and vault toilets on site. Diaz Lake Recreation Area is operated by the Inyo County Parks & Recreation Department. Diaz Lake also has a large campground located along the lake's western shore. The recreation area and campground are easy to access, located immediately off of Highway 395.
