Seeley Lake is at the southern end of the Swan Valley and a great destination for lovers of water sports, hiking, and good old-fashoned family camping. There are three campgrounds around the lake and a small town at the tip of the lake. Big Larch is the largest campground and closest to town. Seeley Lake and River Point campgrounds are on either side of the Clearwater River outlet of the lake, and of the two, Seeley Lake Campground is best for campers with boats. Campers who do not want boating activity would be better off at River Point Campground.
The campground has a long shoreline with a mostly sandy beach, and boats of all kinds can be launched and tied up off the beach, making them very available for campers. Swimming is popular here, though there is no lifeguard. The campsites are set in a wooded area with decent space between sites and lots of shade. Sites are all first-come, first-served, and this campground fills up every day during the summer season. The campground is open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
