Saint Regis Falls

Saint Regis Falls is a great quick stop on the way to other adventures in the area. The two-stage, 30-foot waterfall is best viewed in the spring or after heavy rain, but it typically has water even in the heat of the summer. The campground on the river's eastern shore allows visitors to view the falls at no cost.

For a complete experience, park at the parking area on Santa Clara Road and walk across the bridge towards the sign for the "Scenic River Walk." This footpath parallels the river on the western shore, reaching the falls in a few hundred yards. The path comes right down to the water's edge between the two tiers of the falls. The rocks are slick with spray, so use caution.

Continuing downstream, visitors will find a footbridge that offers distant views of the falls as well as a flagpole mounted atop a huge boulder in the middle of the river. Crossing the bridge leads to the Saint Regis Falls Campground, which has a variety of riverside tent and RV sites as well as cabins. Continue up the campground road to reach the paved viewing platform, which overlooks the falls from the eastern side. The path from this viewing platform is paved and ADA/wheelchair accessible. Continue following the road to return to the parking area.

There is also a historical museum open at select times throughout the summer starting July 4. It's free to enter, but donations are appreciated.
