Roadrunner Campground is a great location for RV campers on Lake Pleasant. The view of the lake and the natural Arizona landscape make all of the campsites equally beautiful. If you're bringing more than an RV, campsites 48 through 51 are a little more spread out, making it convenient for anyone with a trailer or extra vehicles. Campsites 31, 71, and 72 are ADA accessible, making this campground a great experience for everyone. There are three showers on-site, and there is a host site at each of the four campground loop entrances.
It is also the closest campground to the Nature Center, which is a wonderful experience for all ages. The information desk is extremely helpful, and there are some cool wildlife exhibits of insects, reptiles, and fish. Don't miss the tortoise exhibit out in front, either!
In terms of access to Lake Pleasant, although the Pleasant Harbor Marina on Lake Pleasant is close as the crow flies, the only vehicle access to it is to loop back to North Castle Springs Road and onto Morristown New River Highway (an 11.2-mile trip one-way). If you're just looking for paddle board or kayak rentals, the Scorpion Bay Marina is only 4.3 miles away, and you can have lunch on the pier at the Scorpion Bay Club. There is also a large boat-ramp at Scorpion Bay.
This campground receives a lot of traffic because of its site amenities and proximity to the lake. Reservations are essential.
