Delta Campground

If you are looking for a campground to stay at on a McKenzie River floating trip, look no further than Delta Campground. Also known as Delta Old Growth Campground, this beautiful campground is roughly halfway between Finn Rock and McKenzie Bridge, two of the main towns in the spectacular McKenzie River Corridor, Delta Campground has everything a tent camper could possibly want. The campsites are well-shaded, many are very secluded in the thick forest, and many back up to picturesque, gently-flowing creeks that surround the campground. In addition, Delta Campground is only minutes away from boat launches to either the McKenzie River or Blue River Lake, as well as Highway 126.

Delta Campground, surprisingly, does not get as much activity in its 38 campsites as a weekday visitor may expect. Twenty-one of the 38 campsites can be reserved, but weekday visitors will probably be able to get a good site by walking in without a reservation. In addition, five of the 38 sites are designated as group sites. This is also true on the weekends if you arrive early enough; the campground is typically full or nearly full on weekend nights. As a result, visitors can enjoy the gorgeous scenery of the old-growth forest as well as the surrounding McKenzie River area without much commotion from other visitors most days of the year!
