Named after Morgan Falls Road, on which the Morgan Falls Dam resides, the falls themselves are not actually visible from Morgan Falls Overlook Park, which can be a bit confusing. There is, however, an overlook for the reservoir that builds up above the dam, which makes excellent habitat for birds and other wildlife. Stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, and other water activities are also possible from the dock just below the park.

Back on land, the park has many amenities to make for an excellent afternoon out with the family. Pavilions for outdoor gatherings, horseshoe rings, bench swings, a modern playground, and greenspace offer a multitude of possibilities. For people wanting to get away from all the noise, there is also a  trail that leads through the forest above the park for two-thirds of a mile, and it includes a couple of benches for resting and a couple of breaks in the trees for a view down on the river.

All in all, while Morgan Falls Overlook may not actually overlook Morgan Falls, there are great views at this gem of a park just outside downtown Sandy Springs that are worth a visit for anyone looking for something different.
