Casa Mojanda is an eco-resort that is beautifully set in a hillside that faces the Andes Mountains. It has been honored as a Traveler’s Choice winner by TripAdvisor and has also received the Green List honor from Condé Nast Traveler.
One of the truly standout attractions at Casa Mojanda is the traditional Ecuadorian cuisine. With a vast majority of the ingredients sourced right from the on-site garden, each meal is served with a traditional fruit drink along with the exceptional food. Dining at Casa Mojanda is a great way to test a variety of Ecuadorian dishes ranging from soups and side dishes to surf-and-turf options.
Aside from the food there is an abundance of attractions. These include guided horseback riding tours, hiking to nearby waterfalls, birdwatching, the high-elevation Mojanda Lakes, mountain biking, day trips to hot springs, climbing nearby volcanoes, and visiting the famous Otavalo Market.
The lodging options are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Rooftop decks provide views over the Andes Mountains, and they are the perfect spots to enjoy your morning coffee or evening drink. The multi-lingual staff is extraordinarily accommodating and ready at any time to stoke the wood-fired hot tub or a fire within your private cabin or house. If you’re going for the more secluded and independent route, houses are equipped with full kitchens and a fridge so that you can buy you own food and beverages from local markets and cook for yourself (although the local Ecuadorian meal at Casa Mojanda is very highly recommended).
