Lodgepole Campground feels almost like its own little settlement. The campground is adjacent to the Lodgepole Visitor Center, ranger station, post office, and market. You'll find plenty of options for light supplies or prepared meals at the market center, not to mention showers, laundry facilities, and nightly ranger programs. The 214 sites in Lodgepole are distributed into several loops along a beautiful east-west stretch of the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River, breaking up what is the largest campground in Sequoia National Park into much more reasonable and appealing units. Lodgepole Campground is close to incredible points of interest such as General Grant Tree and General Sherman Tree, Giant Forest, Crescent Meadow, and Moro Rock. Additionally the Tokopah Falls Trail, Twin Lakes Trail, and Alta Peak Trail leave directly from the campground.

Given the abundance of surrounding attractions, this is a very popular campground, and reservations are highly recommended. There is a reservation season for Lodgepole Campground: for sites 96 through 144, reservations are available from mid-June to the end of September; reservations for all other sites are available from mid-May through the end of September. There are no sites with hookups, though many are large enough to accommodate RVs and trailers up to 35 feet and there is a dump station located in the campground. Generators are permitted between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. You'll find plenty of tent-only sites, and these tend to be located pretty closely together; if you are camping with several other people, this can be a great way to share a group space. The lodgepole pines, red firs, and granite boulders do a decent job of defining individual space, so while you won't forget you have neighbors, there are plenty of sites that allow for a little more room. All sites have picnic tables, fire pits, and bear boxes for food storage, which is absolutely essential if you want to save the resident bears from relocation or worse. Potable water and restrooms are available. In all, this campground has a little bit of everything to ensure your stay in Sequoia National Park is convenient and beautiful.

Lodgepole Campground is open from the end of March through the end of October.
